Growing up so quickly.....promotion
Brooke was one of the five speakers at her 8th grade promotion. She wrote an amazing speech based on Dr. Suess' book, Oh the Places You'll Go. She talked about pit stops, road maps, dead ends, long journeys and other metaphors for her travels from kindergarten to 8th grade and beyond. This lovely lady is definitely ready for high school. What a blessing she is to our family: intelligent, beautiful, classy, and faithful. I love you Brooke!

Young Women Service Project
It was decided that camp was drawing near so a service project needed to be performed. The girls went to a family's house in the ward to pull weeds (and then of course have a swim party). Brooke will be making the dvd to show at Girls' Camp.

Great Grandpa Jim?
No..and that really isn't funny. What Grandpa Jim is holding is Brooke's rather ingenious school project, baby Jeremy. He is made out of a flour bag, styrofoam balls and stuffed nylons. Brooke had to take care of this "baby" for two weeks. We even brought him over to Nana's birthday party.
It's just too bad I don't know how to make my mobile uploads come out less blurry. Sorry! Learning new things every day.

And here are Tyler as Mr. Bucket and Brandon as Charlie's friend in the school musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. See if you can make them out on stage.

Mother's Day-a new sectional!
We had a relaxing day at Grandpa Jim and Nana's. We brought over strawberry shortcake, the kids went swimming, and we enjoyed each other's company. Grandpa and Nana bought a new couch so they donated their cream sectional to our household. Happy Mother's Day! Tyler wrote me a great card and made some valuable coupons for me for things like footrubs, clean rooms....Brooke wrote read me an inspirational poem and gave me the symbol mentioned in the poem. She is quite the academic these days.
I am grateful for the wonderful women in my life and the examples they are to me. I wish I could give my mom a Happy Mother's Day hug!
